Encouraging local leaders to use their powers to protect local babies from abortion has been an important part of the LifeVigil for years. On March 6 (the first day of these 40 days), Terri and Tim Palmquist spoke to the Bakersfield City Council. Terri had also brought a special gift for each member of the Council (as can be seen in this video).
As a mother and daughter arrived at Bakersfield’s FPA abortion chamber last Wednesday morning (January 30), Terri Palmquist tried to reach out to them, but the mother shouted angrily at Terri and hurried her daughter up the stairs.
A few hours later, an ambulance arrived at FPA. Soon, the daughter was taken out of FPA on a stretcher, going through the door where women exit after aborting their babies. The mother followed behind, going with her daughter in the ambulance to the emergency room at the nearby Adventist Health Medical Center. For more details on this incident, see the Operation Rescue report Cheryl Sullenger sent out throughout the nation.
On March 6, we hope to begin another 40 day 24 hour prayer vigil outside this notorious killing center (if enough people take 10 minutes to answer our vigil survey — please respond today if you have not yet done so). Please join us in praying that God will use us to help remove this scourge of abortion from our community and nation. We especially need people to pray during the hours before 6 am, so that the vigil can continue without interruption.
Struggling to recover from a series of recent well-publicized abortion injuries, Bakersfield’s FPA abortion business has seen a variety of abortionists in recent months, with abortion days frequently changing to match each abortionist’s schedule.
For the past several weeks, longtime abortionist Gorli Harish has been ravaging Bakersfield children and their mothers on Wednesdays and Saturdays. His horrendous track record causes us to have grave concerns: he has been sued for malpractice over a dozen times and has been disciplined by the medical board several times, even brazenly lying about his training.
With these new threats being posed by Harish, we desperately need more commitments so that we can schedule another full, non-stop, round-the-clock vigil as soon as possible. Having witnessed God’s power overcoming many violent abortionists here during past vigils, we look forward to join together again in concerted, focused prayer for a permanent end to the killing of children in this place.
If you have not already completed our vigil survey, please do so today, so that we will know how God can use you to save lives! Until then, please consider joining us in prayer on Wednesdays or Saturdays (or any other time that fits your schedule) at 25th & H Streets in Bakersfield.
After months of absence (resulting from the events of our Fall Bakersfield LifeVigil), abortionist Donald Clyde Willis recently returned to the Bakersfield FPA abortion business. However, he has been conspicuously absent on surgical abortion days. It seems that he is not permitted to commit surgical abortions at this time because he has injured so many women over the past year and the California medical board is reviewing these cases.
On January 17, another ambulance came to FPA, rushing away a woman who was bleeding uncontrollably. Abortionist Justin Diedrich had traveled from Riverside to Bakersfield that day, while Willis remained at his Bakersfield home.
Nevertheless, Diedrich blamed Willis for the abortion injury, telling the injured woman’s mother that Willis had injured her the previous day when he inserted laminaria (seaweed sticks which are used to force the cervix to open wider for second trimester abortions).
It has obviously been difficult for FPA to find abortionists to come to Bakersfield in recent months, because FPA keeps switching to different abortionists and changing surgical abortion days. FPA seeks to cover the state of California with their abortion businesses, so their Bakersfield location is an essential link for them to stay in business.
As we continue to pray faithfully for an end to abortion in Bakersfield, our prayers will likely continue to have an impact throughout California and beyond.
During the Fall 2017 40 day LifeVigil in Bakersfield (our 20th consecutive 40 day vigil), God answered our prayers in amazing ways!
As hundreds of people united in prayer for almost a thousand hours, the FPA abortion chamber dropped two of its business days (changing from 7 days per week to 5 days per week), switching to different abortionists twice.
Some of the horrendous abuses of this abortion chamber were exposed throughout the nation when abortionist Donald Clyde Willis perforated a 23 year old mother’s uterus, causing her to forfeit any possibility of bearing children in the future. She was considered to be dead for five minutes, but paramedics brought her back to life. However, due to her injuries, her uterus had to be removed.
A few days later, this elderly abortionist returned to FPA, hunched over with blood on his head, his arm in a sling, and his stomach showing. He said that he had fallen down some steps and broken his arm.
A new young male abortionist (Justin Diedrich) has been at FPA in recent weeks, while Willis has not been seen.
Before this 40 day vigil began, FPA was open seven days a week. After the vigil began, FPA stopped being open on Sundays. Soon they stopped aborting babies on Saturdays. Then they stopped being open on Saturdays, leaving only five business days per week.
And of course, we praised God the most for the moms and babies who were saved from abortion.
